    Abstract:

As a signaling transducer, mTOR, one member of the PI3K family, plays an important role in regulation of a variety of physiological functions involving cell growth, proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis etc. This paper overviews the composition of mTOR signaling complexes and the specific functions of the molecules up- and down-stream, and briefly elucidates the role of mTOR signaling pathway in cancer therapy.
