Papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) has become a special clinical concern with the increased preoperative detection of this disease. This paper reviews the current investigation status associatated with PTMC that included the onset characteristics, clinical signs, diagnostic approaches, pathological examination and treatment as well as the prognosis of this disease.
