In this paper, the authors address the advances in D2 radical resection for advanced gastric cancer, including the scope of lymph node dissection, value and necessity of clearance of several important lymph groups, cutting-edge technology and safety of the dissections, laparoscopic techniques, and sentinel lymph node as well as gastric cancer micrometastasis.
