Most pancreatic cancer patients are diagnosed with metastasis already present, leaving few opportunities for surgical treatment, and chemotherapy and radiotherapy showing poor treatment outcomes. There is an urgent need for new treatment modalities. There is a close relationship between disorders of lipid metabolism and the occurrence and development of pancreatic cancer. Lipid metabolism disorders are not only risk factors for the development of pancreatic cancer but also accelerate the progression of pancreatic cancer by inhibiting apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cells and enhancing their metabolism, proliferation, and metastasis. Here, the authors summarize and discuss the progress and focal points of lipid metabolism disorders in pancreatic cancer, aiming to offer insights for relevant research.
